Gordie and Paul record a landmark episode by staying home on New Years Eve instead of being on the loose in the New York streets. Gordies impessive Yeti and finally using Audio Hijack, vastly improves the quality. Gordie is not going to see DiAnno in a small club and brings up picture discs, which leads to PROG discussion. Paul sings, reads and ice skates in Central Park. (...and falls.) We close up by wondering where last years Christmas presents are.

Blain Sterling aka: BRENT RATKOVICH joins me on his very first Gordcast. We battle with sound issues for the first 7 minutes, then fix them! Brent tells of how things that scared him as a child became his favorite things later in life, moving around a lot and finally settling in NAPA. Gordie and Brent have way more in common than he thought, talk about shredding guitar gods and wrap up with talk of jumping in leaves now and then. ENJOY!

Paul Bertolino is all settled in New York and Gordie announces that Autumn is finally here. Paul goes to his first NY Comic-Con and talks to Joyce DeWitt like a hooker, doesn't buy anything and gets his girlie-pants tailored. Gordie tells a story that he may have already told, admits he may have A.D.D. and has to censor Paul. We end up discecting language and trying to find groovy winter footwear for Paul.

Paul Bertolino has moved to New York and played music along the way. Paul tells of touring with TORNADO RIDER at places like the DOUBLE DOOR in Chicago, hanging out at VILLAGE INNS in Denver, watching families torn asunder and watches DIRTY HARRY for the first time. Gordie doesn't pay attention to the weather, yet talks waaaaaaaaay too long about it and laughs a bunch. We wrap things up with NAPA nostalgia around the Bicentennial and PETER FRAMPTON and DAYS ON THE GREEN.

Gordie welcomes JORDAN PHEGLEY to the podcast community in a story of how 11 O 'CLOCK COMICS brings people together. (...no, seriously.) Jordan grows up without TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE, but loves old timey radio. Reads STUCK RUBBER BABY, has an altar to MORRISSEY and is going to be a father soon. Gordie reads THE BIBLE ...again, loves TONY MILLIONAIRE, thanks Jordan for exposing him to ANTONY & THE JOHNSTONS and doesn't know how to PARTY IN THE U.S.A. They finish up with dog attack stories while on the job and pledge to record many GORDCASTS.

Paul Bertolino is back from his big summer trip with plenty to talk about. Gordie pleads with the new listeners for some feedback, reminds everyone that BOSTON is owed tremendous props and champions LAWERENCE WELK! Paul tells of the downfall of the Bay Area music scene, is not stoked about the GREASE sing-along in theaters and finishes up with a nice tale of UK mono pressings of THE MOODY BLUES.

Gordie checks in with Paul Bertolino on his New York summer. Gordie discovers new music from the sixties, (...yet again) makes another new friend and is okay with Ryan Adams. Paul has taken to wearing a beard, just like everybody else in NY and reveals MOBYS new metal band with fellow pal PHIL COSTELLO. DIAMONDSNAKE! We both decide that there is no need for an A-TEAM movie and look forward to a time of new ideas in Hollywood.

It's back to the usual format when Paul Bertolino joins Gordie from New York, to talk about fallen heroes and soon to be fallen heroes. Paul sees The New York Dolls, Hanoi Rocks' Michael Monroe and sings in the streets with the homeless. Gordie runs into a Sasquatch in Portland, gets stuck in Utah and has zero tolerance for uninformed Christian fanatics. They both mourn Ronnie James Dio and tell how he effected us through the ages. Paul finishes up with reading Ozzys biography and we welcome new listeners and their comments.

Gordie meets and interviews John Siuntres from Word Balloon, for the first time! (...beamed in from the Boom Tube or surfing on cosmic waves.) The conversation is super comic book centric, while dipping in and out of sports talk, movie talk and who's the oldest guy in the room. John admits he is not a gardener, nor a fisherman, but loves being a city guy and gives Gordie tips on how to rule the podcast waves. Gordie meets celebrities, gave up on comics, stayed cool with Love and Rockets, Cerebus, Arthur Adams and fails his own test on old time hockey conferences. They both agree that Breaking Bad and Precious (based on the novel Push by Sapphire) are tough to watch, but Schindler's List can be enjoyed? more than once. EC comics, Jack Davis, Jason Aaron, Al Feldstein, Chris Neseman, Brubaker and wonder of wonders... Bendis gets mentioned. This one goes longer than usual, but we just kept going. Just listen and enjoy! Welcome new listeners!

Gordie is joined by his mom, RUTH ADAMS! We begin the conversation with EC COMICS talk and why Ruth and Gordie turned out the way they did. Ruths mom goes into scary neighborhoods to spread the Planned Parenthood gospel in the 50's, Ruth gets married and moves to California. Gordie puts a bean up his nose, digs a hole and gets his Halloween candy stolen. (...again.) Ruth remembers waking up Christmas morning with a fully decorated tree, confuses "Special Olympics" with "Cub Scout Olympics" and goes for a walk in the sunshine. QUEEN at the beginning and end.

Paul Bertolino and Gordie begin by discussing the re-opening of the fabled UPTOWN THEATER in Napa. Gordie doesn't know who to obsess about, mentors kids at the skatepark and their cassette tape making and watches BIG FAN. Paul buys DVD sets from the 70's and has met BRIAN POSEHN less times than Gordie has, even though his roommate is friends with him. PAUL SINGS! Gordie "tweaks his amp" and we forget to talk about W.A.S.P. til after the outro.

SEAN LENNON heard there was Guinness here, TOM AYERS finally freaks out and YOKO gets in shape on stage. Gordie falls in love with UFO all over again, realizes ROXY MUSIC may be the progenitors of new wave and runs into Adrian Sahim at Home Depot. We wrap up with PERSEPHONES BEES gig info and get pretty controversial with Nazis and Jesus talk.

Paul Bertolino is rocking the nation once again, mere minutes before taking the stage. Paul can't wait to get out of the hotel room, reveals the guy who wore the cape at Napa High and still doesn't have TV (...even if the WHO are playing at the Super Bowl) Gordie tells of fan recognition, likes the ANVIL documentary, watches the Super Bowl Halftime Show, realizes that KISS is the Sinatra of his generation and would appreciate some sort of feedback. (...Comedy after the outro.)

Gordie is joined by Nathan Alfaro and Adam Sullivan in picturesque Petaluma CA to discuss the super-special, ultimate directors cut of WATCHMEN. Adam builds a C3PO model and then destoys it. Nathan encourages Gordie to watch 30 Rock. Kids say the darndest things and Gordie is nearly finished with Battlestar Gattica. We all get the details of SUPERMAN IV wrong and we wrap up with opinions of the new STAR TREK movie. (NERD-FEST!) ...technical issues occured, making some weird edits, but enjoy never the less.

Gordie and Paul meet up with Bridget in Napa for a Gordcast All-Stars summit. Bridget fails to wear her ever-present Ugg boots, has a bit to learn about bears and reveals that she has a little something in common with Joanie. Gordie's gotta hand it to Lady Gaga, does not feel that Leather Tuscadero is butch, and is a much bigger fan of Filter than anyone had bargained for. Paul had a mustache in Jr High, makes sure KISS gets an honorable mention, and clears up that Alice Cooper rumor.

Gordie and Paul rap about Christmas memories and traditions over the years. Gordie receives a Papercut in the mail and enjoys The Boys, while sick in bed. Paul finds twenty bucks and has his KISS sleeping-bag defiled at a sleep over. The two of them discuss the Tauntaun sleeping bag, a Millenium Falcon bed and being sick around Christmas. Gordie's mom plays The Lord's Prayer backwards and we end up off topic with Metal.

Gordie is joined by Thea Gilien. Thea doesn't ride Horses anymore, kinda explains about Hurling and tells what it's like spending Thanksgiving in Ireland. Gordie skateboards in the newly built skatepark, has been to more Disneyland's (around the world) than Thea and they both admit Sting is never going to be as good as when The Police reigned over the world.
Finally we talk about other podcasts.

This episode Gordie is joined by Nathan and Maria. They decide that Round Table Pizza is the nexus of everything in Napa, discuss the amazing Big Man Japan and talk about Prince. Paul Bertolino is ready to hit the stage, but gets lost at rehearsal.
Gordie plays Twister with his babysitter, forgets the order of Prince's LP catalog and reveals what band just doesn't thrill him anymore. Nathan Alfaro busts in on the conversation and is choppy at times. (Something about Gene Simmons and Stryper?) We all agree that Nickelback is less than to be desired and finally, Paul and Gordie get Styx album art confused.

We discuss girls who wear P.J.s in public, the new KISS LP, Ace's solo project and The Beatles Box sets & impending tour.
Gordie walks out on Bob Dylan and atones for it now and Paul still hates Sting. Bob Dylan takes a walk in Jersey and Alice Cooper wants your wallet. Last of all, Gordie hates that one guy.

The podcast that we thought would never happen...
Nathan Alfaro finally joins the Gordcast legion. Gordie reacts to a CD of songs provided by Nathan, hasn't finished Battlestar Gallactica and never was in a band as a teenager. Nathan gets his degree in Sociology, goes to Disneyland and gets a mani/pedi. Maria shows up sporadically and we all agree on Paul Stanley's dancing.

They start out lounging on the grass at Bel-Aire Elementary school and end up on Yuppie-watch outside a nearby Peet's coffee. We learn of grade school crushes and fave Monkees tunes. Gordie joins the Cussing Club, Paul has some trouble getting a library card and both reveal their past lives of crime. Do NOT leave these men alone with your valuables!

The great experiment in Gordcast land. Paul Bertolino joins Gordie at the Roasting Company to hang out and document the roasting process. Tony Rabin shows up unannounced to join in on the fun.
Paul finally finds a current TV show he likes, Tony is mistaken for Trevor Rabin, explains Gumby to his wife and Gordie ruins coffee for quality control. They all discuss Sid & Marty Krofft, the KISS solo LP's which segues into The White Album and Tony won't stop with The Beatles already. Finally we "wrap" with auto erotic asphyxiation.

Tom Beland is back for a long awaited and much delayed episode. Gordie explains what the R.F.D. stands for in the old Andy Griffith show, doesn't lock his car and re-visits The Death Of Gwen Stacy (yet again.) Tom forges a friendship with his old mail carrier waiting for F.O.O.M. to arrive, wears Spider-man shirts, rants about Napa bookstores (...and their wine-centric displays) and explains how Star Trek is far superior to Star Wars.

Paul Bertolino is guest editor for the first on-location episode of Gordcast where Gordie and Paul meet in downtown Napa. They wander around with a laptop and a camera, checking out what little is left of their hometown, before settling on a shady place where the infamous clock tower once stood. An old friend happens by for an unplanned cameo. We learn that Gordie doesn't like cats, Paul doesn't like dogs and neither of them like Sting. What more could you ask for?

Gordie and Paul talk about 70's Television, collecting toys and other crap in the 90's and how awesome Susan Boyle is. Gordie tells of Saint Helena wildlife and finally getting the answer to the name of that record store downtown. Paul relaxes on the Berkeley campus and waxes rhapsodic about the M.A.S.H theme song.
This one was fun ...and make sure to listen all the way to the end.

This one is for the comic book fans. (...but not exclusively)
Tom Beland finally joins me to talk about comics, comics, comics. Gordie admits that he isn't exactly sure where Puerto Rico is on a map. Tom tells of sharing Gwen Stacy's death at the dinner table, how Alan Moore intimidates him and that he couldn't write a Kang story if you paid him. This is a longer than usual episode and we get very silly and rambly, so have fun! (At 1:21 I missed an edit and am too lazy to go back and fix it right now, so skip to 1:23 or enjoy the song.)

Bridget reveals her experience with the neighborhood KISS fanatic and subsequent escape, her husband's man-cave and Napa memories. Gordie laughs a lot and hears in detail, the night Bridget's parents were out of town.
